Rotorworks students were out to our Blueridge facilities for some off airport operations. They spent a couple of days working out of the log cabin simulating an operational site. The students were learning to use fuel barrels and pumps for refueling the helicopters, inspecting them and covering them with winter covers to protect them from the cold. Before flight in the morning the machines were pre-heated using small heaters powered by a generator.
The students will be using these facilities periodically through the course seeing what challenges are presented as the weather changes.
