Rotorworks Flight Instructors were getting their Annual Training with Airborne Energy Solutions during the last week of March. Airborne Energy has a very good Training Program and Department run by Jim Archibald and Cody Walker. Jim has worked all over the world with different companies and Cody has worked in western and northern Canada. They will both be working in operations this summer working on forest fires and supporting the oilfield and local industries where needed.
One of the exercises that the forest industry uses is the Hover Exit where the people get out of the helicopter and step down when there is no place to land. The following pictures are a sequence of the hover exit in progress. Other training that the Rotorworks Instructors received: emergency, confined areas, low visibility, water bucket, long line (vertical reference) and hover exits.
Rotorworks Instructors will be supporting Airborne Energy Solutions as operational pilots this year when flying gets busy.
